WebCT is a course management program which offers a range of features like a class calendar, an online discussion for asynchronous conversation among participants, and real-time chat rooms. Instructors may post assignments; students can submit them online. Students can take quizzes and tests at any dates and times faculty specify. They may also see their grades immediately or whenever the program is set to publish them. Faculty choose features to enrich course content and enhance student learning.

The WebCT Adminstrator provides students and isntructors, who are called designers in WebCT, logins and initial passwords. Instructors dispense the WebCT logins and initial passwords to their students.

Establish a WebCT identity:
Login in using the assigned login and password. CHANGE THE PASSWORD IMMEDIATELY. Then click on one of the courses in which you are registered.

Set up a WebCT class for one or more courses:

  1. Send email to Ray Fallon, rfallon@ramapo.edu,
or visit him in the TEC office. Call x6808 to make an appointment.
  2. Provide course information:
  • Name of course students will see in the WebCT directory like Labor Economics or Writing for the Media.
  • Course number like BINF-22303
  • Faculty member's name
  • The course will be established in WebCT. The instructor will be named as the designer.
