ITS provides UNIX facilities for research and general computing to anyone with a Ramapo email address. Phobos is our main academic UNIX computer. It's a 4-way SMP server with 4Gb of RAM. On it you will find several different compilers, debuggers, databases, email tools and other text-based tools.

You may have been given a special account in class. These accounts, commonly called "class accounts", are no different from your personal UNIX account. Class accounts are deleted shortly after the semester ends.
