HOW TO CONNECT TO PHOBOS USING SSH Secure Shell Client (SFTP)
I. CREATING NEW CONNECTION:

  • Click on Secure File Transfer Client icon

  • Click on Connect.

  • Type in or select these settings for the numbered items and click on Connect:
    1. Host Name: phobos.ramapo.edu
    2. User Name: username
    3. Port Number: 22
    4. Authentication Method: Password

  • The first time you set up this connection you will be prompted about Host Identification, when asked about saving the new host key to the local database, click on Yes.

  • At the Enter Password window, type in your password and click OK.

II. ADDING THE NEW CONNECTION TO A NEW PROFILE:

  • When prompted to Add Profile, type in any name that will help you indentify the connection that you just set up, one recomendation is to use PhobosSFTP and click on Add to Profiles.

III. SFTP PANELS:

  • The left panel of the main window is where you access all the local files and folder. (normally located in your computer/HD/Flash drive)

  • The right panel of the main window is where you access all the remote folder. The remote folders are located in Phobos.

  • To the right of the Remote Folders Panel, lies the Remote Name panel. This panel display the files found within the selected remote folder. For this example within the WWW folder. Remote Files are located in Phobos.

IV. DOWNLOADING AND UPLOADING FILES:

  • To upload file from your hard drive, navigate to the internded folder and Select a file from Local Name Panel and click on the upload icon

  • To download file from Phobos, navigate to the internded folder in Remote Folder Panel and Select a file from Remote Name panel and click on the download icon
