HOW TO CONNECT TO PHOBOS USING CYBERDUCK (SFTP)
I. DOWNLOADING AND SETTING UP CYBERDUCK:

  • Download WinSCP from http://cyberduck.ch
  • Click on cyberduck-x.x.x.dmg save the file to your computer.
  • When download is complete, double click on cyberduck-x.x.x.dmg. At the finder window, click and drag cyberduck to your application folder. Once it finish installing, do Ctrl + click and select make alias. Drag the alias to the dock or desktop for future use.
  • Double click on cyberduck icon.
  • Type in or select these settings for the numbered items and click on connect.
    1. Protocol: SFTP (SSH File Transfer Protocol)
    2. Server: phobos.ramapo.edu
    3. Port: 22
    4. Username: username (email username)
    5. Password: password (email password)
    6. Path: WWW

II. FIRST TIME LOGIN:
  • The first time you login using Cyberduck, you will see an Alert message. Click Don’t Ask Again if you agree or click change if you do not want Cyberduck to be the default application for FTP and SFTP.

III. CYBERDUCK INTERFACE AND TRANSFERING FILES.
  • After login in to phobos, you will see the screen shown below.

  • Item number 1 is called the Action button.
  • Action button is used to perform edit command such as uploading and downloading, deleting, duplicating, renaming and etc...

  • Item number 2 is the Remote Panel.
  • Remote Panel display files located in your remote site/Phobos.

  • Item number 3 is the Path menu.
  • Path menu display your current location.

  • To download file/files from the remote site to your local folder, select the file from the remote panel, click on the action button and then by click on item A - Download/Download As.../Download To....
  • To upload file, click on the action button, click on item B - Upload and select the file to be uploaded from the finder window.
