Setting up the website
1. First, open Phobos by double-clicking on its icon on the
desktop. Type your email username and password to log in.
2. Once logged in, you need to create a WWW folder where you will upload your web page files. Simply type "setwww" to set up the WWW folder.
3. Next, open "Secure Shell FTP Client" - a software that you are going to use to upload your html files for your website. At the prompt, enter your phobos username and then your password. You may download this product for free from www.ssh.com. On the Macintosh platform you can try MacSFTP.
4. Click on the WWW folder on the left hand side of the window. This is the folder that all your html files need to be in. Click on "Operation", "Upload". Select the file(s) that you want to upload. Go to My Documents and select index.htm - the html file that you created above.
5. Congratulations! Your web page is all set up and available on the web at e.g. http://phobos.ramapo.edu/~username as shown below
Make sure you use your phobos username (i.e. jsmith) instead of "username"
