Building a website
There are several ways to build a website. All campus lab computers have software for creating web pages:
  • Microsoft FrontPage
  • Macromedia Dreamweaver
You can find numerous tutorials on writing html. Here are some links to get you started: For this tutorial, you can simply open Notepad, type the following text and save it as index.htm in My Documents folder. Please note that the webserver always looks at index.htm in your web folder. If you give your file a different name it will not be displayed automatically.

You will use this html file that you have just created for your front page of your website. However, feel free to use any other html file that you made with e.g. Microsoft FrontPage. The next step will explain how to set up your phobos account for the website and how to upload the sample html file there.
